Tira would like you to know that she is writing you from the corner of corn, corn, and hay in rural Ontario, Canada, where she and her husband keep chickens and their neighbours are grass-fed cows. Tira enjoys hula-hooping, picking flowers, and BLT sandwiches.
I met Tira in the early fall of 2007 in New Brunswick, Canada. She and I both went to a tiny hippie college where we lived in a mansion that was formerly a hotel that housed Joe Dimaggio and Marilyn Monroe. I like to think that part of why she and I both love writing reflections is due to this space we shared for four fateful years—it was at this university that well fell and folded into one another as we stood, twenty strong, holding hands while someone read famous words out loud before every meal we shared in hopes to get closer to the heart of enlightenment.
Tira is a great writer, her writing reminds me of some of the most classic authors of our time. Her reflection will be posted on November 9, and it’s bound to be lovely.
