The first time I met Katie she was getting married in 2007. I attended her wedding before I ever knew her (or the groom!). Over the years we were antiquated with one another, but it wasn’t until we both lived in the Twin Cities that we cultivated a true friendship. She is hilarious and jovial and full of life. She is real and honest. She shows me how to take time and not rush through life.
Katie Gorrie is a poet and essayist living in Montreal. She is the editor of The Filid Chapbook, and teaches creative writing at St. Stephen’s University.
Katie’s post will be featured on December 7, and it’s going to be great.
