Holli Durost. My main squeeze. My favorite lady. She’s a real champ.
I’ve known Holly since the summer of 2007. I travelled to St. Stephen, NB to visit the campus of the university we would attend together in the fall of that year. Honestly, I think Holli is a huge part of the reason why I decided to go to St. Stephen’s University. I was introduced to her and a friend around the dining room table of one of the professor and his wife’s house—Holli lived there. We chatted and hit it off, she was a goof and so was I. She and her friend (now my friend, too) Zoe invited me to stay in St. Stephen for the night, crashing at their place. I thought, “why not?” Holli, Zoe and I went to the local pub, got a few beers, ran around St. Stephen like dorks, and had a merry old time. She became my first friend in college, and I feel in love with her spirit instantly. We got each other. She was a talent that I looked up to, and still do.
Holli Durost is a songwriter and scuba diver. She is learning how to enjoy her own company and has bangarang plans to finish an album of music and song. She currently adventures on the east coast of Canada and indulges in life’s finer things; monthly bus passes and long underwear.
Holli’s post will be featured on the blog on Monday, February 8. Peek back then to hear something awesome.
