I met Marie a long time ago. Like, probably at least 15 years ago, if not longer. She was to me the paradoxical Christian—she didn’t seem to fit the cookie cutter mold that a lot of Christian’s seem to take on. She was fierce and powerful and artistic and honest, full of integrity and this attitude that proclaimed “I am strong!” She became a sort of mentor to me, spiritually, musically, and artistically. She showed me it was okay to push the boundaries. She showed me that beauty is so important, and is everywhere. She showed me that being emotionally sensitive is okay (this was and still is a big deal to me). She didn’t and still doesn’t fit the status quo, and learning that at a young age really made me who I am today. For that I am eternally grateful.
Marie started LightSmile Photography 15 years ago with one film camera, plenty of moxie, and one visionary artist brain that has kept her in it for the long haul. She has enjoyed re-defining herself as an artist over the years, thoughtfully embracing the latest technology and business side of her work.
Marie is also the wife of a redhead, mother of two Scot-Irish redheads living in Minnesota, and believer in the Trinity.
Her post will be featured on the blog on Monday, January 22. Peek back then!
